Currently, I am having writer’s block. Is it legal for a writer to say that? It’s just that I don’t know where to start. Words are not simply entering my head. It’s not like I have a writing coupon code and simply ask for the right words to make a good feature. It’s hard. Writer’s block is brutally painful–emotionally and physically.
There was this line from the movie “Back to the Future”, where Marty Mcfly tells his father about the power of the mind. The line was: “When you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.”
Really? Anything?
Right now, I am putting 1000% of my mind to “it”, if that was even grammatically right. But I have to admit, I am facing an anti-writer barrier. Getting to the other side is hard to accomplish right now. Hello, Mcfly? I need some help here.
What should I write about? What can I write about? I know this is a call to creativity, but writers go through desert experiences too. Words, sometimes, repel from our thoughts. Ideas are nowhere to be found. My head hurts, and I’m hungry. I only have with me a bunch of pizza hut coupons 2011, but no pizza. I want to take a break and order some pizza, but I need to finish my work. How I wish I can get myself to spill words to the blank page. I could really use some free coupon codes for writers. One code equals one word. Where can I find a coupon like that?
“Words–I need words.”
That was a journal entry from a writer who wants to remain anonymous. I don’t know what he was trying to write about, but that entry was definitely worth the read. And if I could offer him a lifeline for his predicament– “Ironic” is the word.
